Projectifying work: network organisation models in contemporary capitalist societies

Multi-sited Ethnography Workshop

Multi-sited Ethnography Workshop

In this workshop we challenge the notion of ethnography, not as a methodology, but as a perspective on research and a form of knowledge production. Using the notions of fluidity and discontinuity, we will analyse the main transformations in ethnographic practice over the last two decades: new terrains have emerged as places for the production of anthropological knowledge, with special emphasis on organisations and companies, as well as new subjects such as media and technology or forms of work organisation, among others. Creativity, invention, materiality, and positionality will be debated as a way of defining an epistemological and theoretical framework that underpins ethnographic practice in the context of the PROWORK project. Some examples of contemporary ethnographic studies will also be presented.

The workshop will be conducted in English and is open free of charge to a set of external researchers.
